Tour Plan
Begin your experience in Fes, beginning in the morning and traveling across the Middle Atlas Mountains. Our first visit is Ifrane, regarded as the "Switzerland of Morocco" owing to its European-style architecture and temperate environment. Enjoy a leisurely walk around this picturesque town.
Next, we go to the cedar woods of Azrou, where you'll find lively Barbary macaques. As we continue south, the environment shifts as we approach the magnificent Ziz Valley, home to large palm groves and breathtaking vistas.
at the late afternoon, arrive at Merzouga, where the huge dunes of Erg Chebbi await. Meet your camel caravan and walk into the desert as the sun sets. Reach our traditional Berber desert camp, where you'll have a wonderful Moroccan meal and the captivating rhythms of Berber music over a campfire. Spend the night in a cozy tent beneath the starlit sky.
Rise early to watch a stunning dawn over the Sahara. After breakfast, travel the Merzouga region, beginning with a visit to a nomadic Berber family to learn about their distinctive lifestyle. Then, drive to the town of Khamlia to experience the deep sounds of Gnawa music, a rich combination of African and Berber traditions.
We'll also visit the seasonal Merzouga Lake, which periodically appears after rains and attracts a variety of species, including flamingos. Discover old fossil beds among the dunes, exposing the Sahara's prehistoric history.
Return to the desert tent for another evening of excellent cuisine and traditional Berber music. Spend the night beneath a canopy of stars, savoring the quiet of the desert.
After breakfast, wave goodbye to the Sahara and start the drive back to Fes. Travel through the lovely Ziz Valley, pausing for panoramic views and photographs.
Pass via Midelt, a village set between the Middle and High Atlas Mountains, where you may eat a peaceful lunch (at your own cost) and take in the landscape.
Continue through the cedar trees and the village of Ifrane before arriving at Fes in the late afternoon. Your 3-day experience culminates with a drop-off at your hotel or selected location in Fes, leaving you with wonderful memories of the Sahara Desert and Morocco's breathtaking scenery.
